Introduction to Editing
This presentation will cover the basics of editing, so writers can learn about the next step in the publishing journey.
Our speaker, Christine Gordon Manley, will discuss the different types of editing, offer some DIY editing tips, and explain how and why indie authors invest in editors – and more!
For the past 20 years, Christine Gordon Manley has helped authors all over the world strengthen their stories. She uses a coach-like approach to gently guide her clients through the writing process, celebrating every single win along the way.
She edits fiction, non-fiction, children’s lit, and YA, and she appreciates everything she’s learned from the authors of those works (because there’s always something to learn).
Christine Gordon Manley of Rosemount Writing & Editing Services
Over the last decade, Christine has developed a niche for memoir. In addition to working with people one-on-one to craft their memoirs, she leads regular group workshops and classes on the art of life writing. She also has her own podcast on the memoir genre published, called “These Are Our Stories.”
A published author herself, Christine understands how daunting it can be to have your work edited by someone, and so she tries to make the process as comfortable as possible, factoring in individual preferences, while also recognizing that, sometimes, a writer just needs to scream into the ocean.
She operates her own business, Rosemount Writing & Editing Services, from her home in Prince Edward Island, where she lives with her husband, their two daughters, three needy dogs, and one super chill guinea pig.
